The master plan is a mixed-use development providing 65,000 sq m (700,000 sq ft) of waterfront residences, 18,600 sq m (200,000 sq ft) of offices and 6,500 sq ft (70,000 sq ft) of retail, leisure and community uses.
The master plan incorporated the Dockland Light Railway line flanked with development and combines robust hard landscape respecting the industrial heritage of the waterways with soft landscape residential squares inland.
The accommodation is orientated to face the basin with cloister walks along the tow path and forms respecting vistas and views to the surrounding context. The building’s form crescents extending views and aspect.
Limehouse Basin has been identified a major hub in the waterways system and the plan will encourage the revitalisation of the basin in line with British Waterway’s aspiration to strengthen development alongside the canal.
